Who Am I? | Open Gym | WeightLifting Thursdays |

Who am I? Directly and indirectly this is perhaps the most pro-founding question I've ever asked. Who am I to be mentally and physically stronger, or successful right? Well, who are you? Who cares who you are. Why not instead ask, who shall I be? That question leaves room for potential and wonder. Just imagine for a moment... resist being realistic for a moment and wonder, who shall I be? You're only limited by your imagination. But frankly, your imagination might be too small. One of the biggest mistakes you'll make in life is dreaming too small. So think about it; what kind of person are you imagining, what would this person be like? What would you look like? What is your mission, the thing you devote yourself to everyday? What kind of skill do you see yourself having? And who will be there with you?..the people in your life, who will they be? So thats what I want you to do. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror today. Stare deeply into your own eyes and ask not who am I but who shall I be? . . .and allow you imagination to soar.

Book by Christmas Abbott:

The Badass Body Diet: The Breakthrough Diet and Workout for a Tight Booty, Sexy Abs, and Lean Legs

A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Christmas has not always lived a life where fitness and wellness were as important as they are now. Christmas describes her teenage self as a smoker and slacker, citing a brief stint in middle school athletics as her only precursor of fitness. It wasn’t until an experience as a civilian contractor in Iraq during her early 20’s that she found inspiration to change. It was there that she discovered CrossFit, the springboard to the accomplishments she is most famous today.

Upon returning from overseas, Christmas curbed unhealthy habits, drastically altered her lifestyle and physique and opened what now is CrossFit invoke in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since beginning CrossFit, she has become a member of the highly-respected CrossFit Headquarters Seminar Staff and led her team to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals for the CrossFit games for the past three years, including two qualifications and trips to the Reebok CrossFit Games. Her team is poised to make another run in the regionals in June, with ambitions of once again qualifying for the Reebok CrossFit Games in California for 2014.

In 2012 Christmas embraced a challenge to change tires for NASCAR pit crews. A mostly unexplored world for women, she is already rising in the ranks of the sport’s elite, signing to her first cup-level team, Michael Waltrip Racing, within months of changing her first tire.
December 2013 Christmas became nationally ranked as an Olympic Lifter at the American Open. While she had qualified the two previous years this is her first year to compete. She looks forward to climbing the ranks of her 53Kilo weight class.
While balancing multiple sports, her own CrossFit facility and working as a Head Trainer for CrossFit HQ she is launching a Christmas Abbott Workshop in 2014 to help all CrossFitters dial in their nutrition and analyze workouts to get the most out of training.
Christmas Abbott’s biography is ever-evolving. Please check back often for updates and information on where you might see her next.
